You're not alone in this
Most parents start with a feeling. Here are the most common reasons families come to BrightPath.
How BrightPath works
You don't need to know the right words or have a diagnosis. Just share what you've noticed.
Share your observations
Answer guided questions about what you've noticed β across focus, communication, learning, motor skills, sensory, and social/emotional areas. No medical jargon needed.
See what the patterns suggest
BrightPath maps your responses to known developmental patterns using CDC milestones and peer-reviewed indicators β then shows you which areas to explore further with a professional.
Get your action plan
Receive a personalized roadmap: what to ask your pediatrician, how to request a school evaluation in your state, a ready-to-send letter, and daily strategies for home.
Finally feel prepared β not just worried
BrightPath gives you the tools to walk into any conversation β with a doctor, a teacher, or a school district β knowing exactly what to say and what to ask for.
Turn "something feels off" into clarity
Answer guided questions across 6 developmental areas. Instead of struggling to explain what you've noticed, you'll have organized observations that professionals take seriously.
Know what to bring up at the appointment
BrightPath maps your observations to developmental patterns β like autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or anxiety β so you walk in with specific areas to discuss, not just a worried feeling. Always guidance, never a diagnosis.
Stop guessing how the school system works
Get a clear, step-by-step roadmap for requesting evaluations, understanding your rights under IDEA, and navigating IEP meetings β customized to your state's timelines and contacts.
Say what you mean β in writing
Generate ready-to-send letters for your child's doctor or school that clearly summarize what you've observed and request the right next steps. No more staring at a blank page.
Build the paper trail you'll wish you'd started sooner
A private daily journal to track moods, behaviors, wins, and concerns. Over time, it becomes the evidence that makes professionals listen β with automatic weekly summaries you can share.
Tomorrow morning, try this
Get daily tips matched to your child's specific profile β practical, evidence-based strategies for home, school, and emotional wellbeing. Small things that actually help, for your child and for you.
What parents use BrightPath for
Every family's situation is different. Here are some of the moments that bring parents here.
"My 4-year-old isn't hitting milestones and the pediatrician said 'wait and see.'"
Used BrightPath to document specific concerns across developmental areas, then generated a letter to the pediatrician requesting a formal referral β with organized observations instead of just a worried feeling.
"My 2nd grader is struggling to read and the school says she's 'just behind.'"
Used pattern indicators to identify areas consistent with dyslexia, then followed the state-specific roadmap to formally request a school evaluation in writing β triggering the IDEA timeline.
"We have our first IEP meeting next week and I have no idea what to expect."
Used the IEP roadmap to understand parental rights, prepared a checklist of what to bring, and generated a summary letter of concerns to hand the team β walking in prepared instead of overwhelmed.
"I know something is going on but I can never explain it clearly at appointments."
Used the daily log to track behaviors, moods, and specific incidents over several weeks. When the appointment came, had a clear, dated record that showed the pattern β not just "he's been having a hard time."
These represent common scenarios parents face. BrightPath provides guidance tools, not medical or legal advice.
Is BrightPath right for you?
We built this for a specific moment in a parent's journey.
β BrightPath is for you if...
- β You've noticed something different about your child and don't know where to start
- β You want to organize your concerns before talking to a doctor or school
- β You need help navigating the IEP or 504 process for the first time
- β You're on a wait-list for evaluation and want to prepare in the meantime
- β You want daily strategies while you wait for formal support
β BrightPath is not...
- β A medical or psychological diagnosis β only a licensed professional can diagnose
- β A replacement for professional evaluation by a clinician, psychologist, or educator
- β A crisis or emergency support tool β if your child is in danger, call 911 or 988
- β A treatment or therapy program
Built on research you can trust
We don't guess. Every question, score, and recommendation in BrightPath is grounded in established developmental science β and we're transparent about exactly how it works.
π Grounded in established frameworks
Every question maps to recognized developmental standards β CDC milestones, DSM-5 criteria (as educational reference, not diagnostic application), and peer-reviewed screening research. We organized the science that already exists into something a parent can actually use.
βοΈ Honest about what results mean
A percentage tells you how closely your child's pattern of observations aligns with a known developmental profile. A higher number means more overlap β it is not a probability of diagnosis. It's a starting point for a conversation with a professional.
π¬ Designed for how kids actually present
Real children don't fit neatly into one box. Our scoring preserves co-occurring patterns (autism + sensory, ADHD + anxiety, dyslexia + low self-esteem) because recognizing the full picture is what helps you advocate effectively.
π‘οΈ Clear about what we are β and aren't
BrightPath is a guidance tool, not a clinical instrument. We will never claim to diagnose your child. What we do is help you walk into the room prepared β with organized observations, the right vocabulary, and confidence in what to ask for.

Why I built BrightPath
My son has autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and ADD. Working out how to get him the right support was one of the hardest things my partner and I have ever done.
Finding guidance was difficult. Tracking things consistently for doctors and pediatricians was stressful. Filling out the right documents, understanding what was actually needed β it was time-consuming and overwhelming, because we never felt like we were doing it right.
And beyond the paperwork, there was something harder: helping the people around us β other parents, family members β understand that nothing is wrong. Our son is brilliant, focused, funny, and unique. To us, he's perfect. To the world, he can seem hectic or frustrating. We needed a way to bridge that gap.
If we'd had something like BrightPath when we started, it would have saved us time, money, and a lot of stress. That's why I built it β to ease your way through a process that no parent should have to figure out alone.
We hope you find it useful. And please β give us your feedback. Tell us what's missing. All we can do is try our best to help you through what is, ultimately, a journey of understanding and advocating for someone incredible.
